Two decades of serving the guests of Allah — and one journey each year that we host with all of our attention.
Where We Began
Hilal Hajj & Umrah began as a family undertaking: a small team in the United States helping neighbors, friends and friends-of-friends reach the House of Allah without worry. From 2005 through 2020 we led Hajj journeys season after season, learning the routes, the hotels, the crowds, the quiet corners and the hundred small details that decide whether a pilgrim spends their days in worship or in logistics.
When the pandemic closed the Haramain in 2020, our Hajj operations paused. It was a hard stop after fifteen unbroken years, and it also gave us time to ask what we actually wanted our work to be when travel returned.
One Journey a Year
Rather than filling a calendar with departures, we now host a single Umrah journey each year. One trip means every part of it gets our full attention: the group stays small on purpose, the scholars travel with us rather than meeting us there, and the schedule leaves room for questions, halaqas and conversations that cannot be rushed.
In practice that looks like hotels chosen for their walk to the Haram, transport and visas handled before you land, ziyarah led by people who can explain what you are standing in front of, and a team that knows your name and your family’s pace, whether you are traveling with a toddler or with your parents.
A Medal for Their First Umrah
There is a moment on every journey we look forward to. A child, still small enough to be carried through the tawaf, finishes their very first Umrah — tired, proud, holding a parent’s hand. Before we leave the Haram, we call them forward and place a medal around their neck, and the whole group makes du’a for them. Years later those medals are still hanging in bedrooms across the country, reminding a child that their first walk around the House of Allah was something worth marking.
Every Hilali Is a Brick in Our Foundation
Everyone who has traveled with Hilal Hajj & Umrah, from our earliest Hajj groups to the families joining us this November, becomes a Hilali. It is not a mailing list. It is a community that keeps in touch, prays for one another, celebrates together and shows up when someone needs help.
Each journey adds another brick to that foundation, and we are building on it: Hilali-only gatherings, in time, a yearly conference where the families who have walked these paths together can meet again, this time closer to home.
